Manchester City Survive Liverpool Tsunami in Premier League Title Clash
Comeback Keeps Title Pressure on Arsenal
Guardiola Praises Team's Resilience after Hard-Fought Draw
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has expressed relief after his team emerged from a second-half onslaught by Liverpool to secure a crucial 1-1 draw in the Premier League title race on Sunday.
City came from behind to equalize through Julian Alvarez in the second half, with Guardiola hailing his team's resilience after weathering the storm.
"We survived a tsunami," Guardiola said after the match. "Liverpool were relentless in the second half, but our players showed incredible character to hold on for a point."
The draw keeps City one point behind league leaders Arsenal, who face their own tough test against Manchester United on Monday. Guardiola admitted that the title race is still very much alive, despite Arsenal's recent dominance.
"We have to keep fighting until the end," Guardiola said. "We have a difficult game against Everton next, but we need to keep winning and put pressure on Arsenal."
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was disappointed with the result but praised his team's performance in the second half.
"We played well enough to win the game, but we couldn't find the second goal," Klopp said. "Manchester City are a great team, and they showed why they are the champions."
The draw leaves Liverpool in third place in the Premier League, behind Arsenal and Manchester City. They host Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals on Wednesday.
