England kick off Euro 2024 warm-up with victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina

Cole Palmer marks first England start with goal as Three Lions cruise to 3-0 win

Goals from Trent Alexander-Arnold and Harry Kane add gloss to much-improved second-half display

Cole Palmer marked his first England start by setting Gareth Southgate's side on their way to victory against Bosnia-Herzegovina at St James' Park as the countdown to Euro 2024 continues.

The Manchester City midfielder, who has been in impressive form for his club this season, opened the scoring in the 29th minute with a crisp finish into the bottom corner.

Trent Alexander-Arnold doubled England's lead in the 65th minute with a stunning strike from outside the area, before Harry Kane added a third in the 86th minute to seal a comfortable victory.

The Three Lions were far from their best in the first half, but they improved significantly after the break and will be pleased with their overall performance.

Southgate will now be hoping for a similar display when England face Ukraine in their second warm-up match on Sunday.

Conclusion

England's victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina was a positive start to their Euro 2024 preparations. The Three Lions showed signs of improvement in the second half and will be confident of performing well in the tournament itself.
