Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins says he waited weeks for his chance - and he took it with a late winner to send England to the Euro 2024 final.

Watkins' goal at 89:59 was the latest winning goal scored in a semi-final at the European Championships.

The striker has been Aston Villa's talisman since joining from Brentford in September 2020. He has hit double figures for goals in each of his three seasons at the club.

Watkins has taken the long route to becoming an elite Premier League footballer. He started out at Exeter City in the fourth tier of English football.
