Couple Remain Living Together With Daughter
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has separated from Suzanne Malveaux, her partner of more than 10 years, Vogue reported. The couple has a daughter together, six-year-old Soleil Malveaux Jean-Pierre, and they all live together in Washington, D.C.
Jean-Pierre confirmed the separation in an interview with Vogue. She said that she and Malveaux, a former CNN correspondent, "amicably" decided to end their romantic relationship but remain committed to co-parenting their daughter.
Couple's Commitment to Co-Parenting
Jean-Pierre emphasized that their daughter is their priority and that they are committed to providing her with a loving and supportive home. She also said that she and Malveaux have a close friendship and respect for each other, and they plan to continue to work together to raise their daughter.
Jean-Pierre's separation from Malveaux is the first major personal news about her to come out since she became White House press secretary in May 2022. She is the first openly gay person to hold the position.
